NHMRC Health Research Program announces grant recipients for PFAS research
As part of the Australian Government’s response to PFAS contamination, a National Program of Research into the Human Health Effects of Prolonged Exposure to PFAS has been established. The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) is administering the program.
The aim of the Program is to encourage research to increase the understanding of any potential acute and long-term human health effects from exposure to PFAS chemicals. The research priorities for this Program were informed by the work of the Expert Health Panel for PFAS.
Following a targeted call for research released in December 2018, and peer review by of applications by an expert panel in 2019, the NHMRC announced nine successful applications on 7 December 2019. Further details about the Program and the awarded grants are available at:
